ChunXue Bai
Chunxue Bai is Professor and Director, Shanghai Respiratory Research Institute, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, China. He was trained at Beijing Union Medical College and Shanghai Medical University. From 1997 to 1998, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Bai's research program aims to the pathogenesis of acute lung injury, early detection, and lung cancer treatment. He has been working on ARDS and lung cancer for more than 30 years with funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He published more than 600 papers with 200 in peer-reviewed English journals(see ORCID 0000-0001-5798-3130). He put out the concept of the Medical Internet of Things in 2009.
He published four books for the Medical Internet of Things in 2014 and launched the Chinese Society of Medical Internet of Things in 2015. He set up the Chinese Alliance against Lung Cancer in 2012 and International Association for Intelligent Health in 2020. His other achievements including advocacy, teaching, and the exceptional contribution of launching China Day at ATS, ERS, WCLC, and APSR with the words "open to the world, become international." Due to his significant achievements in advocacy, teaching, clinical practice, and leadership, enshrining excellence in respiratory research and research translation, and also for the exceptional contribution made to the growth of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology(APSR), Dr. Bai was given the "Medal of APSR" (2016).
