Nobuyuki Yoshiyasu

Dr. Nobuyuki Yoshiyasu is a thoracic surgeon, who specializes in minimally invasive procedures for lung cancer and lung transplantation. He believes that patient- and family-centered care should be a surgeon’s priority. Every cancer patient and their family are different, with their own unique needs. His goal is to provide the medical care that they want and to achieve the best outcome possible. Dr. Yoshiyasu is also a postgraduate student at the University of Tokyo in Japan and has worked on developing radiomics and artificial intelligence in lung cancer screening.

Rowena Yip

Rowena Yip, a senior biostatistician/data scientist, has been a member of the Early Lung Cancer and Cardiac Action Program (ELCAP) for over 10 years. In 2010, she joined the Department of Radiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Ms. Yip is a researcher with academic training in biology and public health with focuses on biostatistics and epidemiology, and she is a Ph.D. candidate who is currently completing her doctoral dissertation.

Ms. Yip’s research focuses on statistical and epidemiologic methodology as applied to critical diagnostic and therapeutic topics involved in lung cancer screening, lung cancer treatment, secondary and primary prevention of smoking, and modeling of the long-term effects of such programs. In recent years, she has focused on the health consequences of second-hand tobacco smoke exposure, identifying markers for tumor aggressiveness, and risk modeling through analysis of large databases.
