Kazuhito Ueki is a graduate student in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Kyoto University, Japan since 2018. He has already completed the residency program in Radiation Oncology. His research interests include imaging analysis and survival analysis in patients with lung cancer.

Dr. Paula Ugalde Figueroa is a thoracic surgeon currently working in Canada at Laval Hospital, since 2013. She has been appointed Director of the Thoracic Oncology Research Program at the thoracic oncology research program at the Institut Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Québec (IUCPQ). In 8 years at Laval University in the Institut Universitaire de Cardiologie et de Pneumology of Quebec, Dr. Ugalde has established herself as a thoracic surgeon dedicated to research. She has published numerous articles, including an impressive number on thoracic surgery using innovative uniportal VATS approaches for lung cancer. She has also participated in Canadian national clinical research groups. Dr. Ugalde oversaw the creation of the Lung Cancer Database at Laval University, and under her leadership, the university became the largest contributor of lung cancer cases in the world.
In 2019, Dr. Ugalde was accepted as a fellow of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery (AATS). She has performed peer reviews for the society's journals as well as for other journals, including the European Journal as well as for other journals, including the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and has lectured at AATS symposia and around the world. Dr. Ugalde is dedicated to training medical students and fellows in the field of thoracic surgery. She typically supervises a research group of 7-10 medical students per year.

Originating from Montreal, Edouard Marques has completed his doctorate of medicine at Laval University in 2020 and is now a first year resident in anesthesiology at Laval University in July 2021. He is also a research master student at the Institut de Cardiologie et de Pneumologie de Québec and has multiple research interests in anesthesiology, physiology and oncology.
