Jair Bar
Jair Bar is a Professor of Oncology at Tel Aviv University, and is the deputy director of the Institute of Oncology at the Sheba Medical Center, Israel. An MD with a PhD degree in molecular biology from the Weizmann Institute, he is an active physician-researcher. His training included a fellowship of Thoracic Oncology at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center in Ottawa, Canada. Dr Bar is involved in many clinical trials, translational studies and basic research of lung cancer. His research focuses mostly on deciphering mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy in lung cancer patients, ex-vivo models of immunotherapy, and studies of immunotherapy in early stages of cancer. He is a member of the ISCORT, IASLC and ESMO. He was part of the initiative to form the Israel Lung Cancer Group, and its chairman during 2013-2021.

Matt Evison
Dr Matthew Evison MD MRCP(Respiratory). Qualified from Manchester University Medical School in 2004. Undertook specialist training in Respiratory Medicine 2008-2014 including a two year fellowship in Thoracic Oncology at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, completing an MD degree in lung cancer diagnostics. Appointed as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine (Thoracic Oncology) at Wythenshawe Hospital in 2014. Clinical Director for Lung Cancer for Greater Manchester Cancer and Clinical Lead for the Greater Manchester CURE Project (Hospital-based tobacco addiction treatment services). Chair of the British Thoracic Society Pleural Specialist Advisory Groups(SAG) and member of the tobacco SAG . Member of the British Thoracic Oncology Group Steering Committee and the NHS England Lung Cancer Expert Group.

Emily Stone
Dr Stone is a Consultant Respiratory Physician and Acting Head of Thoracic Medicine within the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Lung Transplantation at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. She is a conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and the Chair of the St Vincent’s Hospital Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Her chief clinical and research interests are in the fields of lung cancer screening, multidisciplinary team care and tobacco control. She trained in respiratory medicine in Australia and has completed doctoral studies in clinical data science in multidisciplinary team care via the University of Sydney. Awards and grants include NHMRC Ideas and Partnership Project Grants, the St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research Clinician Buy-Out grant 2017-2019 and Sydney Catalyst Pilot & Seed Funding 2015. She is the NSW Principal Investigator for the International Lung Screen Trial (ILST) investigating low dose CT screening for lung cancer in Australia and internationally. Committee memberships include IASLC Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation Committee (immediate past chair), member of the Cancer Council Australia Working Party for Clinical Practice Guidelines in Lung Cancer, member of the TSANZ ENDS/ENNDS Position Paper Working Party and Head of the Lung Cancer Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Society of Respirology. She is the 2019 recipient of the IASCL Lectureship Award for Smoking Cessation. Peer review activities include Associate Editor Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Deputy Editor Respirology and reviewer for multiple journals including British Journal of Cancer, Internal Medicine Journal and The Lancet.

Joelle Thirsk Fathi
Dr. Joelle Fathi is a board certified and practicing Adult Primary and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist, and Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington, Seattle. She is the former Program Director of Tobacco-Related Diseases and Lung Cancer Screening, Tobacco Cessation, and Telehealth Clinics at Providence Health System in Seattle. Dr. Fathi is committed to advancing lung cancer screening and tobacco control measures to prevent and address risks and early detection for all tobacco-related diseases, including lung cancer, in her continued leadership, research, clinical work, and advocacy. She currently serves as an active member of the American Cancer Society, National Lung Cancer Roundtable, as a Steering Committee member, vice-chair of the Tobacco Treatment Task Group, and member of the Implementation Strategies Task Group. She also serves as a member of the Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation Committee for the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, a member of the American Thoracic Society Tobacco Treatment Guidelines Committee, and the Washington State Telehealth Collaborative. Dr. Fathi regularly collaborates with local, national, and international organizations to develop and advocate tobacco control and telehealth policy and is a leading and contributing author in numerous peer-reviewed publications.

Charis Girvalaki
Dr Girvalaki is the EU Affairs manager of the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC) working on policy and research. She graduated from Chemistry Department, University of Crete, Greece. She holds a master’s degree in public health and healthcare management specialized in Epidemiology and research methodology, Department of Medicine, University of Crete and a PhD from Medical School, University of Crete, Greece. Dr Girvalaki’s doctoral research evaluated the outcomes related to the Tobacco treatment TrAining Network in Crete (TiTAN Crete) intervention program among primary care physicians.
Dr Girvalaki is also a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist from Mayo Clinic while before joining ECPC she was working for more than 10 years in International and European projects on Tobacco Control and tobacco treatment delivery in collaboration with the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP).
